The new VW Tiguan eHybrid can be ordered now

Volkswagen has launched an unprecedented electric mobility offensive and is currently launching numerous new electric and hybrid models.

As part of this product offensive, the electrified Tiguan can also be ordered with immediate effect. On board the new Tiguan eHybrid, an electric motor ensures that most daily distances can be covered locally emission-free with an all electric range of up to 50 km (31 miles) (WLTP). The Tiguan eHybrid can be configured and ordered immediately. The price in Germany: from 42,413.11 euros.

E-motor and TSI as an alliance: in “Hybrid” mode, the e-motor supports the 1.4-liter TSI and acts like an additional booster. The Tiguan eHybrid is always on the move purely electrically, even in “Hybrid” mode, and therefore emission-free for most short distance travel, as the battery is recharged when the SUV decelerates using what is known as regenerative braking. And so, even over long distances, there is sufficient electrical energy available to switch off the TSI or to support it with additional drive power, depending on the situation. A “GTE mode” can be activated manually in the Tiguan eHybrid – the electric motor and the TSI form a particularly dynamic alliance. Both engines jointly develop a maximum system torque of 400 Newton meters.

Electric start: The plug-in hybrid drive develops a system output of 180 kW (245 PS) and is programmed so that the Tiguan eHybrid can start in “E-Mode”, provided the battery is sufficiently charged and its temperature is above -10° Celsius.

The Tiguan eHybrid covers up to 50 kilometers (31 miles) in electric mode – enough for almost all distances in everyday life. Assuming consistent charging, the Tiguan eHybrid could also be used as a purely electric car for the majority of trips a year. Because the battery, which is located in the floor in front of the rear axle, is charged exclusively with alternating current. With the help of a plug-in charger at a conventional household socket with maximum 2.3 kW or at a charging station or wallbox with up to 3.6 kW.

eHybrid as “Life”, “Elegance” and “R-Line”

The Tiguan eHybrid can be ordered in the three configurations “Life”, “Elegance” and “R-Line”. The “Life” version already has a basic price of 42,413.11 euros.

Among other things, the following features are standard on board: The “Digital Cockpit” (digital instruments with specific E-displays), “Air Care Climatronic” (three-zone automatic air conditioning) including a new and digitized control unit, a multifunction steering wheel in leather with shift paddles for the 6-speed dual clutch gearbox DSG, “ACC” (automatic distance control), “Front Assist” (emergency brake assistant), a parking aid (front and rear), 17-inch alloy wheels and a roof rail.

All Tiguan vehicles are basically equipped with features such as “Lane Assist” (lane departure warning), a telephone interface, a rain sensor and LED headlights.

Innovative drives for fewer CO2 emissions: Volkswagen is committed to the Paris Climate Agreement – with the goal of becoming a CO2-neutral company by 2050. On this “Way to Zero”, Volkswagen has launched an unprecedented electromobility offensive. New, innovative electric and hybrid models are making their debut in many series with high frequency.
