How to use Exterior Zone Lighting on Ford F-150

Exterior zone lighting on Ford F-150 divides the exterior lighting into zones and allows you to switch them on and off to provide lighting around the perimeter of your vehicle.

Exterior Zone Lighting on Ford F-150 Fourteenth Generation 2021+

Exterior zone lighting can be controlled through the SYNC 4 infotainment system.


Go to Settings on the touchscreen, then touch Zone Lighting.

You can use zone lighting when your vehicle is on or off. When it is off, the lighting turns off after a certain period of time.

You can also use individual zone controls to switch on each zone.

Note: When your vehicle is off and the timer has one minute remaining, the direction indicators flash six times.

Note: Indicators on the touchscreen illuminate when the lights outside of the zone lighting control are on.

Control zone lights via smartphone: You can remotely control the zone lighting using the FordPass app.


Why do I see only two zone?
Vehicles without spot lamps only have two zones.

Exterior Zone Lighting Settings

When you access zone lighting for the first time, you can choose to allow zone lighting to override the autolamps when zone lighting is on.

You can change this setting at any time in the zone lighting settings menu.

  1. Touch Features on the touchscreen.
  2. Touch Zone Lighting.
  3. Touch the settings menu button in the upper right-hand corner.
  4. Enable or disable Autolamp Override.

Which F-150 models have Zone Lighting?

Zone Lighting is a standard feature on Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. And an optional feature on XLT. This feature is not available on XL.
